Purpose

Prepare a PDF from the seller, buyer, vehicle and sale details you enter.

How it works

The generator inserts the submitted parties, vehicle, agreed price, sale date and optional clauses into a PDF template. It does not assess the transaction or submit a transfer.

Usage example

An individual seller and buyer enter their details, identify the vehicle and enter the agreed price and date. The generated PDF brings those entries together for review before signing.

What to prepare for a vehicle sale contract

Choose the correct individual or company seller type and prepare the parties’ identity and address details. The form supports a second seller and representation details where appropriate. These options collect information; they do not verify who may sell or represent someone else.

  • Check plate, VIN, make, model and first registration against the vehicle documents.
  • Review mileage, agreed price and sale date. Do not confuse the price with transfer fees or service charges.
  • Additional clauses are free text. Clearly describe any agreed payment, handover or cost arrangements and check that they do not conflict with the rest of the document.

Reviewing, signing and keeping the PDF

After generation, open the downloaded file and check all its details and clauses. If you find an error, correct the form and generate the document again before signing. Downloading does not add signatures or submit a transfer.

  • Check that the participating parties are included and understand the agreed terms.
  • Verify vehicle identifiers, price, date and every added clause, including any allocation of costs.
  • Sign using the method appropriate to the transaction and keep a signed copy with payment or handover records.
  • Prepare the transfer and, where applicable, sale notification separately. Generating a contract completes neither procedure.

Frequently asked questions

No. This tool generates a file from the information entered. Signatures, tax steps and the registration transfer are separate. The mistakes and cost-allocation guides help prepare the sale; the transfer service explains its own workflow.

The form has a second-seller option. Check the documents to establish who needs to participate and whether representation details are sufficient. If there are more owners or the form cannot clearly describe the case, seek advice before using the PDF.

When ownership, representation, charges, payment terms or clauses are unclear. The template does not assess those circumstances or provide legal approval. Check that the document fits any special features of your sale.

Result limitations

  • Check all details and clauses before signing. The DGT purchase guidance does not approve this template.
  • Legal suitability depends on the transaction. Seek professional advice if you need to confirm that the terms fit your sale.
